Buying and building a house for your own use? Cornèr3 supports you in this.

If you decide to buy a house, build or renovate it, you can withdraw all or part of your third pillar money before you retire and use it for financing. Open a Cornèr3 pension account now and start building your future immediately - brick by brick - thanks to the advantageous interest rate of 1.40%.

Why open a third pillar 3a?

The third pillar 3a enables you to fill any pension gaps to maintain your lifestyle after retirement. Since your pension from the first pillar (old-age and survivors' insurance) and the 2nd pillar (occupational pension) usually only covers 60% of your current income, the 3rd pillar gives you the opportunity to reduce or even close this so-called pension gap.

How much and how can I pay into the Cornèr3 pension account?

You are free to choose how much to pay in month by month up to a maximum annual amount 2023 of CHF 7'056 (for employees) and CHF 35'280 (for self-employed) - deductible from your taxable income.

When can the pension assets be withdrawn in Cornèr3?

An early withdrawal of pension benefits is permitted particularly in the event of the termination of the pension relationship for one of the following reasons:
  • You receive a full disability pension from the Federal Disability Insurance and the risk of disability is not insured;
  • You would like to use the pension capital for the repayment of shares in a tax-exempt pension scheme or for another recognised form of retirement provision;
  • You have terminated your previous self-employed activity and take up a new self-employed activity of a different kind;
  • You want to buy or build a house for your own use;
  • You would like to acquire shares in a residential property for your own use;
  • You intend to repay mortgages.

How often can the pension assets in Cornèr3 be withdrawn?

The early withdrawal can be applied for every five years. An early withdrawal after taking up a new self-employed activity that differs from the previous one must be applied for no later than six months after taking up the new activity.

How much does it cost to open a Cornèr3 pension account?

Opening a Cornèr3 account is free of charge.

Are there any fees for withdrawing the pension assets at retirement age?

No, Cornèr Bank does not charge any fees, neither for a withdrawal at retirement age nor for an early withdrawal up to five years before retirement age.

Is there a minimum amount to open a Cornèr3 account?

No, the holder of the pension account is free to determine the amount and timing of payments into the Cornèr3 account in his or her favour.

How can I transfer my current pillar 3a to Cornèr3?
